Healthcare

In a country where many lack access to basic healthcare, HSF steps in with sustained funding and support. Our initiatives ensure that essential medical services reach those who need them the most.

We are improving public health infrastructure in Mogadishu by funding the renovation of major public hospitals, by improving reliable energy access and x-ray capacity, by donating basic medical materials, and by establishing the country’s first dialysis wing.

Infrastructure

During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, HSF funded and established the first public oxygen plant in Somalia. This plant fills 144 cylinders a day, significantly enhancing medical support. Additionally, HSF has led the rebuilding of hospital departments in Mogadishu, increasing capacity to serve 200 more patients.

Covid – 19 support

HSF was key to Covid-19 response efforts, creating free toll number and championing public health by creating ringtones that raised awareness of best practice. It also partnered with the Ministry of Health to set up the National Call Centre and provided free internet and technical support.
